All clients entering Centre for physical
Activity in Ageing (CPAA) physical activity programs must
complete an enrolment form (and every 2-years thereafter)
prior to attending the counselling session. This information
is used by the CPAA counsellor to assist in establishing the
appropriate activity program.
All clients entering Centre for physical
Activity in Ageing (CPAA) physical activity programs must
obtain clearance from their doctor if they have not recently
participated in an exercise program.
The CPAA has a specific Doctor's letter,
which will assist in explaining to your Doctor the range of
exercise programs available at our Centre.
In addition to the Doctor's clearance,
all clients must attend a brief
counselling session prior to the commencement of any exercise
program.
This session is conducted free of
charge and is intended to assist clients choose the most appropriate
exercise program for their needs. Counsellors will look at
the Doctor's recommendations (if any), past medical history
and self reported health.
The CPAA cannot provide one-to-one
assistance to clients with personal care and/or mobility difficulties.
