Appointment of the CPAA Program Co-ordinator to oversee preventive health program - Dot Partridge;

Feb 2001 Offered tender for an Australian Sports Commission consultancy aimed at evaluating a regional and rural fitness and health grants scheme focussed on the promotion of physical activity;
Oct 2000 SAASfit program commenced for SA Ambulance Service operational staff;
Sep 2000 Undertook WorkCover SA consultancy investigating gymnasium services and equipment;
Jun 2000 Take-over of Port Adelaide community health fitness program- 9 classes & 165 clients;
Nov 1999 CPAA re-located into 'purpose built' facilities;
Oct 1999 Active Ageing Award, Celebrate Seniors Positive Ageing Awards International Year Of Older Persons, Office for Recreation and Sport;
May 1999 CPAA web-site launched;
Apr 1999 Commencement of first 'maintenance' or Phase-3 'cardiac-rehabilitation' program - appointment of exercise physiologist and cardiac nurse to oversee program;
Mar 1999 Research collaboration with staff and students from the University of Adelaide, Department of Physiology;
Jun 1998 Commencement of first 'stroke fitness' program;
May 1998 CPAA recognised as a 'discrete' service program with a seat on the EDCS Management Committee;
Oct 1997 First external consultancy conducted: Australian Sports Commission and Department of Veterans' Affairs "never too late!" Program;
Mar 1997 Centre for Physical Activity in Ageing, officially launched by the Minister for Health (Dr Michael Armitage);
Jun 1996 Appointment of part-time administrative support to the CPAA (Mrs Judy Mack);
Jul 1995 First student placements from the Bachelor of Applied Science Program, University of South Australia;
Feb 1995 Commencement of 'staff fitness' programs;
Mar 1994 Conduct of first 'exercise and the older person' fitness training, certificate level elective;
Apr 1993 First commercial relationship with equipment manufacturer (Club Fitness Pty Ltd);
Feb 1992 Commencement of first Staying Fit and Healthy 'water-based' programs;
Jul 1991 Commencement of 'centre-based' preventive health program located with the HRC (titled Staying Fit and Healthy). Commenced with 2 classes and 25 clients;
Jul 1989 Commencement of 'community-focussed' preventive health module program (over 65 presentations delivered in 2-years);
Oct 1988 Medibank Private sponsorship of exercise brochures (produced by the CPAA) and launch by the Premier of South Australia

Jun 1985 Appointment of additional 0.5FTE Physical Educator to assist with gymnasium programs;
Mar 1984 Establishment of gymnasium - permitted a wider range of cardio-respiratory, strengthening, and ROM activities within a specifically orientated environment, client base restricted to Day Hospital - an initial expenditure of less than $1,300;
